Mahavishnu Orchestra（マハヴィシュヌ・オーケストラ）は、1970年にイギリス人ギタリストJohn McLaughlin(ジョン・マクラフリン)によって結成されたフュージョン・ジャズ・ロックの草分け的バンド。
1973年にリリースしたBirds Of Fire(火の鳥)は、Mahavishnu Orchestraの２作目で、ジャズロックとしては異例の世界的ヒットとなった。
この時期の参加メンバーは、ジョン・マクラフリン(ギター)、ジェリー・グッドマン(ヴァイオリン)、ヤン・ハマー(キーボード)、リック・レアード(ベース)、ビリー・コブハム(ドラムス)。
