The Gentle People(ジェントル・ピープル)は、1995年にUSで結成されたバンド。彼らのサウンドは、1990年代のクラブ文化において「キッチュ」と定義された1950年代のラウンジ&イージーリスニング テイストが特徴。
1995年にRichard D. James(Aphex Twin)とGrant Wilson-Claridge主宰のレーベルRephlexからリリースされた「Journey 」は、The Gentle Peopleのデビュー作。
Aは、Aphex Twin(エイフェックス・ツイン)によるremixで、巨匠 Henry Mancini (ヘンリー・マンシーニ)のLP『Mr. Lucky Goes Latin』に収録されている『Blue Mantilla』をサンプリングしている。
