クインシー・ジョーンズの指導を受けた後、プロデューサーに転向し、1980年代から1990年代にかけてホイットニー・ヒューストン、アレサ・フランクリン、ステイシー・ラティソウ、アンジェラ・ボフィル、テヴィン・キャンベル、マライア・キャリーなど数多くのR&Bアーティストや、様々なジャンルの歌手と仕事をした。
