Carl Craig is a member of the second generation of Detroit techno, discovered by Derrick May, who is known as one of the founders of Detroit techno along with Kevin Saunderson and Juan Atkins.

WEAの子会社Blanco Y Negroから2005年にリリースされた 「Landcruising」は、カールクレイグの1stアルバムであり名作とされる一枚。2005年にはリマスター＆リミックス＋新曲追加で、タイトル「The Album Formerly Known As…」としてレーベルRushHourからリリースされ再評価されている。
