The Heptones（ヘプトーンズ）は、1960年代から1970年代初頭にかけて最も活躍したジャマイカのロックステディとレゲエのボーカルトリオ。
The Heptonesは、the Wailers（ウェイラーズ）やthe Maytals（メイタルズ）と同時代人で、1960年代半ばに彼らに匹敵する存在として知られていた。
「On Top」は、スカ、ロックステディ、レゲエをはじめジャマイカのポピュラー音楽スタイルの基礎を築いたジャマイカのレコーディングスタジオ＆レーベルStudio One(スタジオ・ワン)からリリースされたアルバム。このアルバムは、別名Best Of The Heptones（ベスト・オブ・ザ・ヘプトーンズ）とも言われている。
