The Heptones were a Jamaican rocksteady and reggae vocal trio that was most active in the 1960s and early 1970s.
The Heptones were contemporaries of the Wailers and the Maytals, and were known as their equals in the mid-1960s.
“On Top” is an album released by Studio One, a Jamaican recording studio and label that laid the foundations for Jamaican popular music styles including ska, rocksteady, and reggae. This album is also known as Best Of The Heptones.
